This is all I need. I've got an essay to complete by next week and the keypad on my new laptop keeps locking somehow. All of a sudden it will stop typing and none of the keys will work. It's an ASUS K55A laptop.

I've tried looking online for an answer but can't find one anywhere. I've tried a few key combinations as suggested on a few websites but they never work. Eventually, the keys will start working again and I'm never sure why.

It's driving me mad!!

A bit of Googling seems to throw up rather a lot of Asus laptop owners (albeit not the same model) who had this problem and found it was caused by a badly connected ribbon cable (between the keyboard and the motherboard.) If it's a new laptop I guess you probably don't want to try that solution yourself...?

Just wanted to say thanks for your reply lazydog. Have had a few other problems with this laptop since so it's going back to Amazon Angry
