I mostly use an Asus tablet and would like to use it for everything
I wanted to create a photo book but don't know how to get photos from my camera to my tablet without first uploading to laptop
Laptop is getting on a bit so I don't want to replace it when I use my Asus all the time so I'm frustrated that there are some things I am not able to do on it

It has a micro SD slot but my camera has a proper SD card. Is there any way todo this?

For future photos, can you get a micro SD card with an SD sized adaptor for your camera? That way you'd be able to put them straight on the tablet. I'm not sure there is a way to move the existing ones which doesn't involve the laptop though.

Which Asus tablet is it? The Transformer Pads have a USB port which you should be able to connect your camera to.

As EFNO says, a micro-SD with adaptor sounds like a future solution, and if photos are important to you, then consider opening a Google account and using the Google Drive storage (which will mean they can be on Asus and be 'safe' and ready for the time when the laptop actually dies).

The Asus may be fine, but even more easy to drop / lose/ have stolen than a laptop if it is ever out of the house...

Also, there's now an 8 GB SD card made by Sandisk with wi-fi built in. Only saw it yesterday, and not cheap (25 quid or so) but that might offer a solution!!

Oooh, networkGuy does that mean what I think it might and that I could transfer photos direct from my camera to tablet without removing the card?? Sorry, Iam dim and need things spelt out...but have same issue as OP?
