help! Cat sat on laptop and screen view has changed :-(

Hoping someone can help me with my rather embarassing problem! My cat sat on my keypad and now my screenview has changed... My laptop is a widescreen one (don't know any technical info, sorry!) but I see everything in a non-widescreen-format i.e. it's narrow and doesn't fill the screen. I have also lost the taskbar from the bottom (although I can get it again by pressing the 'start' key)

Hoping someone who is cleverer than me could help - I'm sure it's simple if you know how

Try pressing ctrl-alt-up arrow keys together in that order.

WhatKatyDidToday · 03/01/2013 21:08

LateToTheParty that doesn't seem to do anything, but thank you for the suggestion, any more where that came from?!

Everything is narrow, or are you just referring to within the web browser window?

feellikearubbishmummy · 03/01/2013 23:24

if you put cursor at edge of narrow bit can you drag it out?

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 03/01/2013 23:24

Try ctrl zero

LOL!! That's what I was about to suggest if you confirmed it was just the browser view and not your entire screen. It always amazes me how many people consider internet to be "everything" on their computer. I so often get phone calls from customers who tell me "windows won't start up" and eventually narrow it down to IE not opening for them Grin

Yaaaay! «twirls»
