Can I use ordinary Wii remotes with Wii Sports Resort? For some reason I have a feeling I can't . TIA

No you don't need the extra bits. Having them makes for a better experience, but it works just fine without.

Thanks, I put the game on and it asked whether I had the Wii remote with motion plus extender or the Wii remote plus. As we only have ordinary Wii remotes I've now ordered the motion plus extenders :).
