iPad 1 on eBay.?

All you clever techie people, do you think there's any mileage in buying an iPad 1 via eBay? I want to get an extra one purely for DS who's lost his iPod touch.He doesn't want to replace his iPod cos he's never off our iPad, and using our space with his apps!! all he'll be doing is playing games and surfing. I want to do this relatively cheaply . I appreciate I probably won't get a warranty with an 'old' device but i really don't want to get ripped off.- it has to be an apple because I want to transfer previously bought stuff.

I still have an ipad 1 and whilst it does seem a bit slow now by modern standards, it's still usable. In fact the kids still use it to play games.

The problem really is that the latest IOS 6 is not compatible with the ipad 1. What that means is soon, games & apps will start to require IOS 6 as the minimum and stop working on the ipad. It may not happen for some time but it will happen at some point.
