migrating itunes between PCs

I'm finding the thought of this scary...Not helped by the fact that the old PC which I can access as a " server" at the moment is very unstable and prone to just shutting down and taking an age to re boot.

If I consolidate my music library in a separate hard drive (currently houses part of the library and part on the PC for some reason) then migrate the itunes will it find all the music/podcasts/apps or will it be looking for " where they were"?

Made a pigs ear of moving stuff to the drive before and having to re link to itunes so I want this to be smooth...

Thanks!!

BTW I don't get on well with you tube " do it like this" videos, I'm bette with a list of instructions if anyone can point me at one.

Do you have a network between your PC's? I found that to be much the easiest way, just dragged from my itunes music folder on one PC to the other. And setting up a network is a hell of a lot easier than I thought too! Lots of easy to follow instructions if you google it.

If not then I have used a portable hard drive to move the music over and it didnt pick up the podcasts that hadnt been downloaded so that was a pita. And it lost the playlists too, the biggest bug bear for me!
