How do you transfer videos from your iPhone to your Mac?

Everytime I sync my iPhone to my Mac the videos load (v slowly) onto iphoto where they sit as icons that lopk like video with the length of the video stated. I now realise that when I open them they are just photos of the first video frame.

The only videos I have of my kids are on my iPhone and I want to keep them safe. There are hundreds so I can't email each individually. Any tips?

I use Dropbox. Not sure of how I set it up as my lovely DS did it for me. All I know is that I now open the Dropbox 'camera uploads' folder on my iPhone and it updates with any new photos or movies created. I then open the folder on my mac and so long as the broadband is on, they appear really fast.

Hi there.

In iPhoto right click (ctrl-click on a laptop i think) the video and choose "Show original" or "Show in finder". You will then see the file in the finder window and if you double click it will play in QuickTime.

Alternatively you can launch iMovie which will import videos from iPhoto automatically on startup. Though then you have to learn how to use iMovie which is a bit sledgehammery if you just want to play the video.

This is all from memory as I'm away from my mac at the mo but I can check the details for you if you have trouble.
