HELP!!! Trying to set up Kindle Fire for Christmas gift

Help please! We've got our DD a Kindle for Christmas - we are clinging onto the Santa illusion (trying to eke it out another year) I want to set it up so it has her name on it but still be linked to my amazon account. How do I do this???? I want to use Kindle freetime but its disappeared off the device.

I'm really struggling and would welcome the Mumsnet teccy love.

Not sure what you mean by kindle free time but.....I have my DCs' kindles linked to my account. You just go onto your "manage my kindle" page on amazon, and then I think it's "manage my devices" and you can edit the names of all the kindles associated with your account.

Yes it does thank you! We have set it up with dp's work email as account in her name but with no payment attached. Kindle Freetime is an app which is sadly not licensed in uk but allows a greater parental control including timer settings etc. I didn't realise we couldn't use it until we came to set it up

can you share the books purchased on kindle if you have multiple devices via one Amazon account?

Yes - you share the archive - works for me and DDs
