As so many of us seem to be giving in to the lure of the Kindle Fire, I wondered if anyone had any good tips for the best apps to download. I'll start with Quell and Evernote. Any more?

angry birds, star wars, very pretty.
Drawing pad, proper money, but will entertain Docs of all ages and mum.
various others, just visit the app store every day and pick up the freebe
Quick pic, gives you a photo frame slide show.
upgrading the installed office pro gives you a usable, just word processor, but at a price.

Do you only buy them via amazon or can you download existing purchases from i tunes? Is Fire ok or is the HD version significantly better ?

Via Amazon, sadly apple run their own operating system and apps on itunes only run on apple devices.

So you do duplicate a bit of spending to get doodle jump and angry birds on a large screen, but not as much as buying a ipad mini.

Music works on both and you can get a kindle app which lets you read kindle books on an iphone.

Unfortunately there isn't an app to let me read my many ibooks on the kindle.

mines a HD and the screen is lovely, haven't seen a straight fire to compare.
