What are you trying to do, use your own music on iTunes for a ringtone?

ScariestFairyByFar · 04/12/2012 20:00

Yes there's instructions online but I can't get it to work

is it a song that is in your itunes library?
if so you have to make a duplicate, right click the duplicate, change the end of the song to 30 seconds, right click again, convert to AAC version, copy the 30 second clip onto your desktop, right click that icon, rename the file M4R, drag it into ringtones on the itunes library, sync your phone and its done.

It's the renaming it but that isn't working its not changing the file type

Holy crap that sounds complicated! So glad I have an Android phone. Select file, set as ringtone just seems so much easier somehow.....
