Imac delivery dates after xmas

Well, i'd settled on an imac and went through the ordering process online only to be informed delivery would be 31 Dec to 7 Jan!! Does anyone know if apple stores have their own stock where I cd pick one up sooner?

I've also ordered one (21in), and my dc's are very excited.

I ordered on 30 November, but as I'd ordered some upgrades, was given an estimated delivery date of 17 Dec.

I understand that standard 21in models are available in stores, but it would be best to check before making a special trip.

We wanted the 27 inch but no stores have it in yet ( I phoned today). What s more, apple are apparently not giving them a set date yet and one store told me I shd ring every day to check and that I cdnt reserve. It s a first come furat served basis
