Want to buy a home PC for xmas. Okay, this is what I want it to do (am tech illiterate so please bear with me):

Me:
Access email, internet for facebk, mumsnet etc, do powerpoints for work, store photos, word docs, play iplayer, 4OD, etc

Kids: homework, some gaming, download music (dds hv ipod touches, shuffles), play dvds

So I m all in a muddle. It must be wifi enabled and I would like a largish monitor that we could all watch films on while sat on the sofa.

Any recommendations? I saw the new apple computer which had a fairly big screen and no tower and i liked the look of that as no ugly large box to sort out where to place it. Is there a pc version of this does anyone know?

Lots to choose from www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/all-in-one-pcs/706_7023_70023_xx_xx/2_12/relevance-desc/xx-criteria.html,they should all have built in wifi as I ticked the box for that but if one that you like doesnt, its not a problem, you can always buy a wifi dongle.
To do powerpoint and word documents you will need a copy of Microsoft Office, not sure if any new pc,c cone with anything more than a trial copy but I think the Home and Student version can be bought for about £90.
