Email with attachment "stuck" in outbox

I have an email which Outlook can't sent (I think attachment too large) so it's stuck in my outbox. I've tried disabling the automatic scheduled send/receive and have then clicked on it to delete it, but it won't budge when I try to delete. What else can I do please as it's really slowing things down? TIA.

Are you with Virgin/Blueyonder by any chance? I have 3 emails currently stuck in my "outbox". Email appears to be receiving ok but I can't get these emails to send.

No with BT. Receiving ok but sending of any email seems to be delayed as a result of the stuck one. I had two others stuck but have managed to delete them.
