Can I get Google Reader to email me new blog postings?

I'm subscribing to a few blogs via Google Reader but I end up never reading them because I don't get round to signing in. I do however check my emails all the time, so I'm wondering if there is a way of getting Google Reader to send me new posts by email. I suspect not, as I can't find anything in the settings ... in which case, are there any other RSS readers out there that do have this facility?

No worries. I sent up an IFTTT recipe to see whether it would work as an alternative - it does - and then forgot to turn it off, so it bombarded me with 27 emails at 1 in the morning
