It's not a speaker where the ipod slots in. I need a lead of some sort but not sure which one?

Thanks

3.5mm cable. About £2 on amazon/eBay

If your speaker has a built in amplifier it is likely to have "phono" inputs somewhere. If it does (please check) then you need one of these.

If the speaker has no amplifier, then, unless its designed to work from a headphone socket, you'll need an amplifier too plus the wire above.

I can help more if you can give me the make and model number of the exact speaker you have and the connectors on it.

Thank you both. I don't have a speaker yet but am trying to find a decent one. It's for my son and we have already brough the touch so don't want to spend too much on a speaker.

Was thinking of this one:

or else the small angry birds one.

Thanks again.

I have a pure one classic digital radio, and use that ^ wire to use the radio speaker with the ipod.

The small Angry Birds speakers are half price in Sainsbury's just now. I bought one yesterday. You don't need any other wires, it has a wee lead that clicks into the headphones socket on the iPod.

Thank you OvO, I just went into Sainsbury's and brought one. They are tiny but good for the price, he will love it!
