Lost Word files

I had some Word files I was working on that I hadn't saved yet, I put the laptop down, came back a little later and the battery had ran out. When I opened word up again it didn't give me the option of opening the files like it usually does. Is there somewhere autosaved files are stored on the computer so I can find the again or are they totally lost and I need to start again?

Check where word autosaves your files to. Mine goes to C:\Users\Easy\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\

where 'Easy' is my user name on the computer. You need to go to File, then Options, then Save to see this info. That's where your files should be.
