Samsung Smart TV - image breaking up on all channels

Just that really. Samsung Smart TV, can't watch any channels.

We have an outdoor ariel, with indoor signal booster. All channels are broken into blocks of pixels which shift around on the screen.

However, when we view via the BT Vision box, it is absolutely perfect, so does that indicate that it's not the ariel?

It was bought last Christmas, so not quite a year old.

Doesnt BT vision come through your broadband? If so that would indicate to me that there is either a problem with your ariel or your signal booster.

Yes and No. BT vision uses Broadband to access the 'On Demand' services. The usual Freeview channels are delivered via the external ariel.

The freeview channels are perfect via the BT Vision box, but not via the TV directly.

I'd check all the connections, and the aerial wire too if you can see it

I'd also try resetting/retuning the box.

I've retuned the TV. It's the TV that is the issue. DH has done something with the ariel to test that.

The bit error rate on every channel is maxed out, but the signal is 90/100% so I think it's some sort of signal noise.

Sounds like the ariel or the connections to the ariel. Can you watch DVD's

Lougle · 02/11/2012 00:07

I don't have a DVD player.
