I have dropbox on my pc.

I insert a memory card into my printer and the dropbox thing pops up and offers to have the photos, but doesn't have enough space (I don't want to buy more).

I don't want dropbox to do that, I want the thing that imports them on my pc to pop up like it used to so I can put the photos on there, but I can't stop dropbox.

What is the answer please please?

Can't you insert the memory card into your pc/laptop directly and copy the files over using windows explorer?
Or failing that connect your camera to the pc/laptop with the cable that comes with the camera?

No to both (or I would have!)

Can you 'see' the printerfolder/photosfolder via windows explorer?

Hullygully · 18/09/2012 14:45

No, dropbox comes alive and it goes no further.

Sorry, but what do you mean by 'comes alive'; it pops up on your desktop computer screen?

Would it work if you stop Dropbox from running when you start the computer up? I mean, if you go to Start/Run, then type msconfig into the box, and then click on Startup in the menu that appears, and deselect Dropbox.

yy pops up

I don't think I understand that, saskia

which operating system are you using?

Hullygully · 18/09/2012 15:05

windows, I don't know the number

I don't have a copy of XP in front of me so if you are using that I will defer to someone else but if you are on Windows 7 you need to open the control panel, type 'Default' in the search box at the top right of the screen then click on 'AutoPlay'. You will see a list of things that happen automatically whenever you connect external data to your machine - anywhere it says dropbox change it to what you want instead - probably for you choose ' import pictures and videos using windows' as an example.

Sorry, I didn't explain it very well Blush You can stop Dropbox from running automatically, this link explains it better than I did. Not sure if it will help but it might be worth a try.

I am trying the default thing right now, mjl...
