Can I transfer music from my iPhone 3GS To another smart phone?

I have an ageing iPhone 3GS. I'm not that fussed about sticking with apple (although I do love my iPhone) if there is a better/cheaper option. I use it mainly for email, text, Internet, photos & calls, as well as music. I'm not that bothered about losing the apple apps but I don't want to have to start all over again with my music. Am I stuck with apple, or will I have to have phone + iPod which seems a bit silly? Thanks.

I think the answer is "no".

Have you read in the news about Bruce Willis who is taking this up with Apple? Apparently the music you download onto your iphone/pad/pod doesn't actually belong to you. You are just leasing it. So you can't, for example, leave it to someone in your will, like you could a CD collection.

There seems to be some doubt in the article below as to whether Brucie is actually suing Apple - but the point remains - you don't own the music you have downloaded (Alledgedly)

Easy Phone Sync was recommended in this discussion. I haven't used it myself.

Thanks, when the moment comes I'll try this.
