Anyone got a qwerty phone?

Sounds silly, but I don't feel I'm a natural at texting. I've been looking at a Samsung Chat, Nokia Ashia or LG360 with a qwerty keyboard. Are they a bit quicker to use? Can anyone recommend one of these or another make?

i have a qwerty keyboard on my HTC and find it much easier than a normal phone keyboard. however, i do alot of typing in my job!

I have the Alcatel OT-606, which has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, so can be a 'candy bar' shape with just the numbers visible, and becomes closer to a square when opened out. I also have a battered old LG 360 (reasonable camera for its day) which is a bit more awkward to use (in my view, not the QWERTY but functions overall, maybe because I got mine s/h with no instructions and never hunted online for them!)

Alcatel OT-355 is similar in looks to the Samsung Chat, and recently I bought a Vodafone 354 (I think) at Asda (to use with my Asda PAYG SIM) for 15 quid. Again, it's an Alcatel made phone, just branded as Vodafone. I do prefer the ones with the whole keyboard visible, now I've had chance to try several phones.

Definitely find QWERTY very handy. I've also got some T-Mobile touch screen phones (multiple touch needed on screen) and they are more awkward than the Android phones and tablet where a QWERTY keyboard is displayed.

Have been in IT over 30 years so typing (and used to not abbreviating) for all that time, so 'txt spk' shorthand is just garbage to my eyes Grin

PS I always disable predictive text (aka T9) as I prefer to just type the words and not have the phone flashing lots of possible words at me!

I have the Nokia c3 and it is awful. Qwerty keypad but ridiculously small buttons. It's a really slow, temperamental phone.

My LG has a lovely slide out key board, lovely to text on.
Crap touch screen, but the newer models may be better.

DD2 has the £60-70 Nokia that looks like a blackberry. That has a lovely key pad.

I think it's the c3 moaned about below,

She is 11 so has small fingers as do I, so we do ok with it. Can't say I like the menus on it.
