I used ubuntu before Chrome.

CruelAndUnusualParenting · 24/08/2012 13:12

I've used Slackware, RedHat, SuSE, Mandrake, Debian, LibraNet and Mint. I've have also experimented with Knoppix and Ubuntu, but not used them as main operating systems.

I also have an android phone.

Both my laptop and DS's PC run on Ubuntu. I am a very happy Linux user.

So many open source software packages you can download too.

overmydeadbody · 24/08/2012 13:17

And anyone who complains about microsoft and thinks it is hard to work, has no idea. Linux is far harder, but ultimately more satisfying once you have figured it out.

SunWukong · 24/08/2012 16:42

Bollocks Linux is far more sensible/logical no shut down button under Start and all that confusing crap, everything is laid out in a logical manner.

I'm on Mandriva an old one, was on Mandrake before that and SUSE before that.

yes, i am running GNU Linux (specifically debian)

Me...but not through choice! DH has Ubuntu installed on all our computers. I just go with the flow and rely on him to solve any problems!

NetworkGuy · 24/08/2012 18:42

Have used Knoppix, Ubuntu, Kubuntu and others.

Generally happy, but also have some iMacs, Win XP, Vista and a Win 7 machines, too. Most apps I have are for Windows, while I tend to use the basics and install limited extra software on the non-Windows systems...

'basics' include spreadsheets, data handling, web browsers / FTP / SSH and a few other networking tools. Oh, and audio/video players, of course, so I can listen to internet radio and watch YouTube, etc.

RubberBullets · 25/08/2012 09:25

I use Ubuntu and DH uses Debian.

It's all about Ubuntu in the monkey house (at DH's instigation but he is now a traitor with an iPad. I loves my Ubuntufied netbook ;)
