Since upgrading to Windows 7 on my home PC, it now takes an absolute age from turning it on to getting to the "welcome screen". The platform is Vista (which I now realise has a crap reputation).

Being a techno dinosaur, would the question of compatibility Vista/Windows 7 combo not being good, be a reasonable one?

If so, what on earth can I do about it?

You can't have both Windows Vista and Windows 7 - just one or the other.
they are both operating systems and Windows 7 is the newest and the best OS to date.

Thank you for your reply. I thought I'd better have a quick look to confirm what I actually ordered so I don't get both myself and anyone else confused.

What I ordered and installed was : Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 - does this run from Windows 7?

If so, what can I do to tackle the clash between the two platforms if that's the case?
