Unwanted pop up porn images. Help!

I was on another thread earlier and clicked on a link to vogue and then a window popped up with naked ladies on and title local slags. Clicked x. Posted on thread and someone else said it hadn't happened to them. I tried it again and it didn't happen. Is there anything I am missing or need to do or can do to make it not happen again at another time? It is on an iPad and the kids use it.
Any advice welcome.

Sounds like you might have some malware. Run a malware checker/removal tool and see what it comes up with. Malwarebytes is both excellent and free.

Have you got pop ups blocked?

If you're on an iPad then the Malwarebytes software won't work. It's very unlikely the iPad is infected but the broadband router may have had some settings changed which are creating these popups.

Go to this website and click on the most appropriate link for your region and it'll tell you if your broadband is compromised.

That'll teach me to reply to threads while half asleep, I completely overlooked mention of an iPad. Flatpack is quite right, of course.

I too get this! Discusting! And my 8 year old plays on my iPad !!! What can I do? All my preferences are set correctly!?

That's funny. Whenever my children watch the Simpsons on my iPad there are lots of tabs with porn ads / Russian brides. I thought it was them at first but they swore blind it wasn't (and are only young). Now I will need to try and find a way to stop it.
