Google Apps / change domain host / email stopped working!

Anyone have any knowledge of google apps?

I don't have a technical background, and am learning as I am doing. So pre-school needed a website, I built one and found a host. But the host was a new provided, so I transferred the domain over to the new host (ipage).

But, I had failed to take into account that two staff had set up gmail accounts using the preschool website as their extension. Apparently this is google mail apps?

So, since I transferred the domain, their emails no longer work (very embarrassing..big oops!).

I googled the problem, and found something to do with MX records, which I then duly changed in ipage, but I am still getting errors when I send them emails.

Does anyone else have any suggestions as to what to try next?

Many thanks in advance for any help!

Cheers,

You need to have all the e-mail accounts known on every MX record for mail to work reliably. Don't know exactly how the two staff member accounts are defined (but anyone with a vanilla Google Mail account can 'add' extra mail addresses).

Maybe they need to create [email protected] for themselves, and then you can get ipage host to forward mail for name@domain to [email protected] for each of those people.

They can tell Google to add name@domain and set it as the default mail address so any e-mail they send says from name@domain and doesn't use the GMail address.

Thank you for your help.... So, I think I should ask the two staff members to re-fresh / reload their email accounts? Will try that.... I don't want them to lose their existing emails, but presumably you can refresh.

This is all about a mile above my head!
