We need to upgrade from our on their last legs separate Epson Scanner & Epsom printer.

MAC users & we need something Decent, but nothing too fancy - We scan/print photos & artworks, make cards & I also use transfer printing for my work - but so many to choose from I'm going cross eyed

WWYR

TIA :)

They're all much of a muchness nowadays I find. I still prefer Epson ever so slightly but only because compatible inks are easier to come by.

The only thing which has annoyed me with my last Epson printer was the wireless was a pain to set up. Then stupid 'features' like the printer would refuse to print if any of the cartridges were too low. So if my yellow cartridge was out, the printer not only refused to print even all black documents. To add insult to injury it would also refuse to scan!

Canon Pixma printers seem to get quite good reviews but I've never used one myself.

It seems hard if not impossible to buy HP cartridges and Lexmark seem expensive.

I hate ink jets. The nozzles always get clogged and I seem to spend half the cartridges life cleaning. Then ink gets everywhere and the paper comes out with random blotches on them. Original inks are better but far from perfect.

I've just bought myself a Dell 1250c laser printer from Tesco for £59. Print quality of text is amazing and for printing photos it's not quite photo lab quality, more Jessop's photo book quality (ie. you can still see the dots & edges) but more than enough for me and I have high standards when it comes to photography.

Thank you Niceguy lots of great info there & a great point on compatible inks :) - think thats just sold me on sticking with Epsom as we use the none Epsom ones, which are a HELL of a lot cheaper

thanks again :)
