Is there an organiser or 'to do' function as part of google/gmail?

I am using an organiser app on my nexus 7, but I want something that saves on cloud in case anything happens to my nexus. Can anyone suggest anything? The organising part of g-mail doesn't seem to be accessible on the nexus and is very limited on the PC.

Google Tasks - gtasks is the Android app you need. It will sync with your Google calendar.

When you're looking at your gmail inbox, click on Gmail in the top left corner (below the google logo, above the Compose button). Then choose "Tasks".

In Google Calendar, it should be available uder "My Calendars" on the left hand side of the screen.
