That's it really, looking in to a cloud backup storage system for all our pcs & macs. Can it be used by a mac elsewhere e.g. dd at uni?

Hi highly recommend Dropox!

I use it everyday for work and personal us you get about 2G of free storage and if you introduce people you get 500mb for each person you introduce, up to 18GB (for free) so I introduced loads of friends and family.

Plus you can use it on a mac, pc, android tablet and access the files from any device anywhere. Brilliant technology.

I upgraded to 200GB which cost $199 or £126 a year.

Their site can be found here: www.dropbox.com/

I second Dropbox, it is very good.

Sugarsync and UbuntuOne are also worth a look.

CrashPlan has a Family plan -Unlimited backup for up to 10 computers on one account. Available for windows, mac and Linux. Also has an IOS app. Pay per month or 1, 2, 3 or 4 year plans. Depending how many years you purchase it can be as little as £40(ish) per year. Hope this helps.
