He just pressed some buttons on the bottom left side of the keyboard and now my screen has massive font and I've been trying to work out what to do but all the instructions seem awfully complicated given he just pressed a few buttons iyswim.
He has also opened a tool bar I have never seen before for the webcam, which is actually quite helpful!

when mine manages that she does something with the zoom on my internet browser. check the settings in there :)

BellaBearisWideAwake · 03/07/2012 18:37

thanks, yes I did that, but it's everything on the screen not just in a browser. The icons on the desktop are bigger as well.

my laptop has turned into those large print books in the library.

Ok try going into the Control Panel from the start menu then click on

Appearance and Personalization - adjust screen resolution - make text and other items larger or smaller.

Make sure its set on 100% not 125%

BellaBearisWideAwake · 03/07/2012 18:40

I don't see Appearance and personalization in the control panel

i'm probably being a muppet

i do appreciate your help

OK, easier way. Minimize your open programs. Right-click anywhere on the desktop display, select Screen Resolution at the bottom of the list, then follow as above. Of course if you are on a Mac this wont be the same.

Right click on desktop.in the box that pops up,click screen resolution, you will have to try to see what suits you(windows7,if your on vista will have to go and check dd,s laptop)

What operating system are you using?

I've just tried the Windows key and + which switches on the screen magnifier (Windows 7). If you're on the same operating system try Windows and - to see if that shrinks it.

If you're on Windows XP, try going to Control Panel > Display (or right click on the desktop and click Properties), then go to the Appearance tab. There is a dropdown box called Font Size, is it set to Normal? If not, change that and see if it fixes the problem.
