facebook: does joining a "closed group" show up to your facebook friends?

you can see the group and its members but not it's wall/events etc. Will timeline say "cheriefroufrou just joined " or will it show somewhere else on my profile?

I just joined one and it hasn't shown up that I'm aware of. I just get notifications when a member posts on the wall.

i think it will show unless it is a secret group.

I'm in a secret group that doesn't show up at all AFAIK

Dashing facebook doesn't always tell my friends what they see about me, for e.g. if I comment on a groups wall it shows up on their timeline but not on my profile page IYKWIM
