Links wont open on new laptop.... please help!

It will open some links but when I click on others a red and yellow symbol with an exclamation mark in it comes up and the link will not open. Does anyone know how I can fix this. TYIA

Internet explorer, Toshiba laptop

Have you tried clicking on the Red/Yellow thing to see if it Tells you what it is.
It could be various things, it may be a Popup Blocker, it may be some kind of warning that you are going to a different site.

Try right clicking on it, it may give you a menu.

try to download Chrome
www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

using it is likely to be different experience
