My iPhone 3GS has started randomly turning itself off then on again. Very annoying doesn't seem to be anything that triggers it.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Charge it up again.

Mine does this. Sometimes if it gets too hot it will switch off.

Id like a solution/reason too.

My iPhone 4 did this for ages. My boyfriend fixes computers and things and when he took it apart he said that my battery was buggered and needed a new one. He said that most of the time my phone wouldn't pick up the battery and would then switch itself off. Also it caused my phone to heat up loads when being charged and when I used it for a while.

Oh also it wouldn't register the charger sometimes which caused it to overheat as well, and then when you took it off charger my phone would switch off for ages.

Not sure if this is the same as yours but thought I'd share!

Thanks everyone, phone doesn't seem to be overheating but will keep an eye on that.

It does it even when showing a full charge but I guess it could be a battery connection issue, hadn't thought of that Rachel13 thanks.

My htc desire, now 2 years old does exactly the same. A friend thought I probably should get a new battery. How old is your phone? Mine says it's charged too. It does get quite warm if I don't take the battery out and leave it out fr a few minutes. Very annoying, it's put off dd from having it when I get an upgrade. Must sort it out!

Just seen it's a 3gs so probably about the same age as my desire. Sounds like it could be a knackered battery doesn't it?
