I never sync my phone and computer because ummm I don't really know how but I must get organised and having three calamders (iPhone, outlook at work, google calendar fir family stuff) just isn't working

Certainly can, go to add another account, and addin your google account details. Multiple people can view and edit if you send them invitations. We run our family calendar like this now
