Videos in iPhoto only exporting as still pictures?!

I download everything (photos/videos) from my camera or phone to iPhoto on my Mac.

How can I email short video clips to family? I have tried exporting them from iPhoto but it seems to turn them into a still picture.

Is there a better way of doing this. I don't want to upload them to the internet, just email them, or save them to a CD for non-Mac users.

I've just done this with a short video clip I took on my iPhone of DD's sports day yesterday.

First of all I imported the clip into iPhoto. Then I opened iMovie. Once in iMovie click on File, Import, Movies. It will then bring up your photos/clip in iPhoto so you then click on the one you want to import and it will give you the option of adding it to an existing event or creating a new one. I added mine as a new event (and named it DD's Sports Day). Click import and it will import it into iMovie. Once that's done you can edit it, add titles etc then you export it by clicking on Share, Export Movie.

I just export mine to the desktop which is then easy to attach to emails or else I just keep them in a folder.

Hope that made sense!

Aha, Sunshine, you may have solved my problem!

I didn't even know iMovie existed

I have just opened it and it seems to be scanning my iPhoto library for video clips. How exciting.

Thank you very much! MN really does have the answer for everything :)

Great - I only found out recently how to do this so I hope it works for you!
