Bought a macbook about 18 months ago. No longer under warranty. Phoned Curry's where it was purchased and was connected to a lady who didn't really know a lot about macs despite me 'keying mac option into the phone!

Consulted apple website and the problem I had was a common one and one that could be rectified easily. I was given an appointment at the local i-store, and the replacement part was fitted free of charge! The chap who dealt with me was most polite, introduced himself, shook my hand and again when I left.

Fantastic service.

fab
part of what you pay for with apple maybe
i have an old macbook ..one of the white ones no longer made
the backlight keeps going out but i think it would be too expensive to get fixed

Yes, I have had nothing but excellent service from them. All the sales/genius bar people I have dealt with in our local apple shop have been extremely knowledgeable and helpful and free of charge. I have had a couple of iPhones changed (one out of warranty) when there has been a problem.

I am an apple convert (sorry Bill) Smile

Your lucky, our ipod was over warranty and they wouldn't replace it because it was 2 days out of their "extension" period. The only reason this was the case was we had to take another one back for the same problem and they wouldn't see two ipods at the same time and had to make separate appointments. It has been like talking to a brick wall and we will probably take them to small claims court.

Haven't a bad thing to say about their service, repaired my airbook free of charge when well outside warranty as agreed that the part was not up to standard (would have been a £400 bill) and helped me reinstall my daughters OS on her laptop when she had done something stupid. Unfailing polite and keep their appointment times.

I can't understand why anyone would spend money on anything else tbh.

I have killed two iphones and they have both been replaced . My macbook developed a trackpad problem when out of warranty but they repaired it the same day and free of charge.

Given my ability to knacker all things electrical I stick with Apple because their service is generally excellent.

Unlike Currys where I had to quote the sale of goods act at them and threaten litigation before they replaced a laptop which was dead at 2 days old....!
