Hello,

As the title of my post suggests...I am wondering whether to get an ipad or a laptop. At the moment I use my work laptop for personal stuff too - which is within company policy, but I've decided that I would rather have my own machine for all the family to use.

My priorities are photos and internet use, but also writing documents and using spreadsheets. I am drawn to the Ipad for novelty value, whizziness, sheer attractiveness etc. but don't know much about how practical it is as an all-rounder i.e. is it a replacement for a laptop or an addition?

Any thoughts gratefully received!

After my husband treated himself to an ipad I'm jelous. It's speedy and easy to use, takes great photos.

Downside: You have to buy a wireless printer to be able to print off.

If I had the choice I would swap my laptop for an ipad.

Hi,an ipad is great for browsing when curled up on the settee, apps are good but I dont think it could ever replace a laptop,I certainly couldnt have one as the only computer in the house.

If you are writing docs and working on spreadsheet you need a laptop.
