ipad and wifi - I'm stumped

I have an iPad 2 and suddenly it cannot connect to the wifi at home. It is showing as connected in the top left and corner (title symbol) but under the 'Choose a network' section in Settings - the name of our home wifi is just whirring continuously. I have put in the password umpteen times but we still are not connected. The laptop and the iPhone pick it up just fine.

What on earth am I doing wrong ??

I had exactly the same problem earlier this week. Solved it by turning airport off and then back on again, rather than the ipad iyswim. HTH.

Yes tried on/off, tried deinstalling and reinstalling etc I will go and try airport.

I restart my router when this happens and it sorts it.

Sometimes it just takes a long time to connect/ find network .
