iPod touch - how much memory will we need?

Agreed to buy an iPod touch for DD as she has saved up £50 and balance will be her birthday present.

She likes music but doesn't listen to a wide range so will happily delete oldies to make room. She will also use it for games.

I was going to buy the cheaper 8 GB version but my DH says the games will fill up the memory quickly and we should spend the extra £70 on a 32 GB version.

Has anyone regretted buying an 8 GB for their DC ?

I did and I do.

Not all of the advertised 8GB is free space so DS has only about 6GB of space.

Lots of good games can be had for free or for loose change. Plus he has a couple of his fave movies/YouTube clips on his Touch. Consequently he/we constantly have to spring clean his Touch by moving stuff in and out in order to accommodate new stuff.

If money is an issue the 8GB will do but if I had to do it again I'd buy the 16GB instead.
