Am completely stuck and have admitted defeat so I need some help!

To cut a very long story short I have filmed something which I need to show a doctor at hospital regarding my DS...it's very important and something which I doubt Im going to be able to get again before his appointment. It was on a Micro sd card on my phone but I uploaded it to FB so a friend could see it (she's a peadiactric nurse and wanted to listen to it) and now it's completely disappeared off my phone despite me not deleting it-phone is Samsung Galaxy Ace if that helps at all.

I can play it from fb but the 3g connection in the hospital is crap and won't play so need some other ideas.

We've got a Mac and DH has got an i-pad and an i-phone but he won't be with me for the appointment as works in the middle east a lot and is typically away the day of the appointment.

Any suggestions? Please make it idiot proof as am a complete technophobe lol! I shouldn't have uploaded the damn thing but didn't think it would make it completely disappear!

without seeing your phone its hard to recover the original, but you can download the copy from facebook before the appointment. Visit this site it will help you.

Can't you send the video to your own email address, and play it from there on your phone?

ihearttc · 15/05/2012 16:32

I did think of that Rat (am very impressed with myself for even thinking it!) but without being thick wouldn't I still need 3g connection to be able to play it?

I wondered about somehow getting it on the ipad cause actually having a bigger screen to view it on isn't a bad idea but not sure how that would work either...just wondered if it'd be easier than trying to transfer it back to my phone.

Im so so cross with myself it's unbelieveable...DS has been like this for the best part of a year and Ive finally got some proof to show the hospital and this happens to it!

Thanks monkey will have a look at that site as well.

mm... I am not familiar with the ipad so I can't advise you on it. On my smartphone, any email that I have previously downloaded (e.g. through wifi access or 3g) remains accessible even when when you are not connected to wifi or 3g, so that should work.

The ipad would probably be best to view the video though, if you can sort this out.

Good luck.

Thank you...your help is much appreciated! I had absolutely no idea of where to start!

Will let you know if I manage to do it-think I need to be in peace and quiet so will wait until they've gone to bed!

If all else fails, then as you've put it online, can you not contact the hospital doctor to ask if s/he can view it ? If done a little (< 24hrs) before the appointment, then it will be fresh in his/her memory before you meet.

(You may need to allow the person to be a 'friend' - sorry, I'm not a FB user.)

I did wonder about that network guy but have a funny feeling he isn't the sort of person who has access to facebook...but I could be wrong! Still haven't managed to do it but am going to give it another go over the weekend...it nothing else works then will just have to hope that I can get on internet in the hospital on my phone and he can view it that way.

Can't you simply ask the doctor to step outside where you can get a 3G connection? Surely where ever the doctor is located he can't be too far from a place that can get a signal. I mean, I find it hard to believe that the whole building is a 3G dead zone. :)

ihearttc · 19/05/2012 20:37

Honestly it's crap. I spent 6 weeks in there (well 2 weeks on the ward before I had him and another 4 weeks with him in NICU) and there is literally no where that you can get a signal. I must have walked miles round that damn hospital trying to be able to get online. The main Atrium isn't too bad but it's completely the other side of the hospital from where we've got to go so can't exactly ask the consultant to walk with me across the hospital!!

I still can't do it but another doctor who I have managed to show the video to has e-mailed our consultant and basically explained what he has heard so if I can't manage to do it then it's not the end of the world.

I realise I must sound completely deranged making this much fuss about a video but we've had 18 months of battling with Dr's and a trip to Great Ormond Street in the process and they still don't know whats wrong with him so this is a sort of last chance!

Thank you for all your help though-much appreciated!
