iPad internet connection problem

Our home wi-fi internet connection was working fine with my iPad until recently apart from short periods where it would lose connection but not for long.

I took the ipad out the house a couple of weeks ago and since then I can't connect back at home. I have tried:

Resetting the internet connection and re-entering the password
Unplugging the router and then putting it back

The strange this is when I go to settings it says the name of our wi-fi (although in the box it shows a circle going round - does this mean it's not connecting properly?)

I took it into the Apple shop yesterday and they rebooted it and it picked up their wi-fi.

What else can I try?

It might be worth changing the channel your router.

With our orange Livebox, if I ever need to reconnect, I have to press a button on the back to allow the box and device to 'pair'. Also it seems very sensitive about exactly how I enter the password; it needs to have no spaces (even though it's written on the box with spaces) and all the letters have to be capitals, but I can't use caps lock to put them all in, I have to use the shift key for each one individually.
