Can someone recommend a smartphone for me?

So I have finally decided to upgrade my old Nokia for something a bit more modern! Smile

I love the look of the iPhone and everyone raves about it but I really, really don't like a touchscreen for texting purposes. I would much prefer a qwerty keyboard. I've thought about a blackberry but a couple of people have said the internet is very slow which would drive me mad.

So what else should I consider?

iPhone fab, blackberry not Wink.
I found the blackberry keyboard too small.

I should also say my email is a Hotmail account so I need reliable internet.

the internet isn't slow on a blackberry!

i only know because DP has one which he uses all the time. the newest one has a touch screen too, which is nice.

I have an htc desire z which has a flip out keyboard ,buttons are bigger than blackberry and it runs android, it's great!

Try the iPhone out, I assumed I wouldn't get on with the touchscreen, but it's actually very good

Try it out before deciding I mean, not just - get one, it's great, though indeed it is, lol

I like a keyboard. This is the one thing I don't like about my iPad so much so that I bought a keyboard for it!

IPhone iPhone iPhone

I thought I wouldn't get used to a touch screen phone. But they are really easy to use once you get used to it. And I personally would recommend NOT getting an iPhone. Get a Samsung galaxy any that are out are good and the new s3 has just come out and is absolutely awesome. It has a quad core processor that means it will run super fast and will be able to multitask properly unlike the iPhone

iPhone IS a qwerty keyboard. Look, I've just typed qwerty on it. Easy .

Yes I've heard Samsung is good make. But do they not do any keyboard phones?

Good idea to look at reviews on Tech Radar. Good for understanding top 12 and features. When looking you need to figure out what is most important for you. E.g. keyboard, camera etc.

IMO the days of the Blackberry are nearly over. I have had many for work and also currently have oldish Desire.

All Blackberries are rubbish for internet compared with many other phones.

Do not buy a BBerry torch ever. If you do want a BBerry get a trad one.

But IMO whilst I need to read recent reviews as so many coming out nowadays I'd go for a decent Android.
