Help! Installed SpeedyPCPro and Microsoft Office has stopped working!

I was recommended SpeedyPCPro on this site and in a moment of madness paid £24 to install it to my laptop.
Instantly, Microsoft Office Professional 2007 has ceased to work. This is awful, I have a huge amount of ongoing work in Office. What on earth do I do?

If the work in Office is important then I would try and do a system restore to before you installed SpeedyPCPro,I am not familiar with this programme but a quick google seems to show its a registry cleaner which you could have got from ccleaner for free. What pc problems did you have that made you install it?

I agree with 1sassy, get rid and download CCleaner. It's free, and it works. I'm always a bit confuddled as to why people pay for stuff that doesn't work as well as the free stuff.

I didn't know that it didn't work. Sad

I don't know how to do a system restore. Blush

I installed it because it was recommended for getting my laptop to run faster.

When I realised it cost money to activate, I tried to uninstall it.

However I failed and for the last few months it's been telling me I have over 3,000 problems with my PC, some of them critical. Confused

Today it reached a number of over 4,000 so I panicked and paid up.

Poof. Can't read my email, nor any documents.

In windows its start>all programs>Accessories>system tools>system restore, look for a date when you were able to use Office etc.

1sassylassy thanks. I did as you instructed but got a bit lost as I went into turning the system restore on.
It says I can create a point to restore from but I can't find a way to type in or select a date.

What version of windows are you using,if its XP then I will have to kick the old desktop into life to see the procedure.
You do not want to create a restore point ,you want to restore your computer to the state it was in before it started playing up,so if it started playing up on thursday, you need to look for a restore point for wednesday or earlier.hopefully this process will reverse whatever SpeedyPCPRO has done

It sounds like this is 'scareware', ie it scares you into paying up to 'fix' problems. Anyway, when starting your pc keep pressing F8 until you get the start menu. Use the arrows to scroll to 'Safe Start Mode' then press enter. Then when it's booted up do the system restore to a date before you downloaded this program.

Next, download and run CCleaner from the link I posted above. It really is the best free clean up tool out there. Heck, it's the best clean up tool full stop, free or otherwise. Then scan using either MBAM or Superantispyware, both are very effective.
