opening attachments in my e-mails, computer says no!

My computer has stopped opening any attachments on my e-mails. I click on the attachment then it says scanning for viruses then it says down load? I click on yes and nothing happens? What has happened? Anyone any advice please?

What sort of computer are you using (PC, Mac, Windows 7, Windows XP) and what program are you using to look at your emails? What program are you using as a virus scanner?
