Oh dear.

I am a techno-numpty of the highest order.

But - point of honour - trying to sort this out without dh's help so feebly turning to you lot instead Wink

  • I live in mainland Europe.

**I have Samsung Corby mobile phone (didn't choose - inherited).

* I use said phone's timer and clock when I power walk.

**Also want to listen to my own selection of music and BBC Radio 4 progs when I walk too (have IpodShuffle but proving a bit restrictive)

Questions:

  1. Will phone do all these things at once? Or is it easier/ better to buy separate Ipod (if Ipod is the correct "appliance")
  2. If Samsung phone will do everything, how do I adjust it so that it will download music and radio progs? (Dh says I have to have a WAP or something - is this right?)
  3. Phone has bluetooth (whatever that is Blush) "Music player" "Find music" and "Download" headings/icons included in menu. Which of these do I use to download R4 progs and apps and things and how do I do it?

Humungous thanks in advance for any help/advice (please phrase in Noddy language)

And sorry to be so pathetic but inherited this phone so don't have full instructions ...

I think you will need to download the radio progs to your computer, then bluetooth them over to the phone. It depends on what options you get when you click on 'Find Music' or 'Download' on the phone - if this is taking you to some kind of store, it may be that you can locate what you want there.

Also, are the r4 programmes you want released as podcasts, or are you downloading from iplayer to listen to later?

Bluetooth is just a way for one thing to communicate with another - so in this case, you could send audio files from your pc to your phone. You could also send photos from your phone to your pc, for instance. You will need to enable the bluetooth on your phone and check that your computer has a bluetooth adapter, for this to work though.

oh, actually, I just checked, and the phone has a USB adapter, so the easiest thing is, download what you want to your pc, plug the phone in, and drag the files you want over. will be far easier :)

Ok, that's much easier if you are trying to download the podcasts, as they are all there available (and yes, they should be, even in mainland Europe). Getting stuff from listen again on iplayer would be harder. Hope it works out for you!
