Android music app for tablet?

We have an Archos tablet which connects wirelessly to our NAS box. The idea was that all the music would be on the nas, and we'd use the tablet plugged into the amp to play music. Great plan, crappy execution - I can't find a decent app that actually works!

The ones we have tried are rubbish - there's the uPNP thing on the tablet, bubble, and a couple of others, but no album art, and all tracks seem to display in alphabetical rather than track order.

Does anybody have any recommendations before I launch the fecking thing out the window and order an iPad? Grin

Now for some reason new stuff added to the NAS can only been seen with SMB connection - all the apps we have seem to use uPNP.

My old nerd friends have all gone over --to apple- the dark side, so they're no use. Help! Grin

jareth, have you tried winamp? it seems to work ok on my android phone (although I don't use it a lot, so it may not have all the features you want)

Thanks both, sorry I'd forgotten about this thread!

Have had a look at poweramp, but it doesn't seem to be able to see external sources - does the full version do this?
