If my unread emails appear as 'read' in my inbox, does this mean...

my account's been hacked?
AFAIA, no dodgy emails have been sent from the address, but no new messages are showing as unread, which I'm finding somewhat disturbing.
I use BT Yahoo on a Mac and am ignorant and useless in these matters.

I did label a distinctly dodgy-looking message as spam yesterday, so I assume that's kicked it off.

Also, for the past few days something flagging up a message from 'tastylips' has been flashing next to the Yahoo 'inbox' and 'contact' tabs. Shock

Can't find any answers on the Yahoo help link - just sends me round in circles.

It might do. There might also be a more innocent explanation - for example, you left it logged in on a computer other people use and they clicked on them and opened them. I've done that by accident to my partner's account when he's used my PC before.

Either way, I'd scan your PC for viruses and malware, and once you've done that, change the password to the account. I don't use Yahoo so can't help with the message from 'tastylips', other than to say don't click on it, it's almost certainly dodgy.... is it something that's actually part of the email account window, or is it an advert of some sort? If the latter, absolutely don't click it, if the former, flag as spam or delete.
