Lack of emoticons

Im a bit perplexed - Id like to use the full range of emoticons on Mumsnet, but the only ones I can manage are :) and :(

Is it a due to my rather basic laptop or am I doing something wrong? If someone could just explain it I would be :) !

What happens when you try to use the others? Does it just not work? There's a list below the field you type your message into with the codes to use, so for a winking smiley you would type [ wink ] (except without the spaces between the square brackets and the word like I just did here for demonstration purposes... because if I didn't put the spaces in it'd just look like and that wouldn't help you!)

They do n't work like on normal sites. You need to type a word into square brackets. Have a look at bottom of page...

I hadn`t realised my brackets were the wrong shape!
