Skype not working - any ideas?

Hi all

Our Skype hasn't been working for a while & we are somewhat mystified. Today I re-downloaded the newest version but it's still:

1. not showing us when our contacts are online
2. telling our contacts that we are offline 3)saying when contacts do seem to be online that 'contact request pending' 4)any video calls seem to ring but are ended due to 'internal error'

Any help greatly appreciated! We only use it for video calls ie the free service.

Have you tried the 'Help'?

Yup -no good...

Did you make sure you've put it on "online"? ( you should have options like online/offline/invisible etc)
