Acitvated sim for iphone 4 and

it's saying no service -does that mean that the sim is ok but service will come in time or could it mean that sim is damaged?

I ask this because I had a nightmare trying to put the micro sim into my old iphone 3 to try to copy contacts and it might have got damaged.

But maybe there is a time lag between acitivating sim and service coming to phone?

Also have tried to download latest version of itunes to laptop but it hasn't worked - it says that a later version is the only one compatabile with new iphone 4.

If I had known that it would be so much hassle would probably not have upgraded?

As I can't do without a phone have put my old sim from iphone 3 into old samsung and that seems to be working for now.

But would that stop new micro sim working in iphone 4

I was told it could take up to two days to activate the sim - I think mine actually took about 4 hours.

it worked thanks and as much as I like the iphone 4 you can't turn off text preview it seems as you could on the iphone 3 and this means that your texts are splashed across the screen for anyone to see - kids?

Anyone know how to hide text preview on iphone 4 - perhaps i should start a new thread.

Try going to Settings -> Notifications -> Messages -> Show Preview = Off
