Check out the above links. 250GB hard disk. 7 inch screen. Roughly that is about 220 movies. I bought mine from HMV before Christmas for £149. That is the cheapest that I've seen. Easier than carting around a whole box of DVDs.

Or if you prefer a 500GB 4.8inch job ....

Argos sells setups where you have a small dvd player plus two 7inch screens that you fasten to the rear headrests. They sell for about £100-£200. Individual handheld DVD players can be had for about £70.

I'm not into portable DVD playes so I can't recommend any particular model.

Looking at it another way. If you don't mind the drop off in resolution then you can get your iPad movie file size down to about 350mb to 500mb. That is about two movies for each GB. This eliminates the need for another gadget.

You can tell DVD Catalyst that your gadget is an iPhone. The software will adjust its settings accordingly. The image obviously won't be as sharp as it would be for an iPad-size movie. You need to experiment to see if the resolution on the iPad is acceptable.

As for deleting a movie, you do it from iTunes. I'm not at my PC at the mo so I can't tell you how to do it exactly but you can say to iTunes - clear out what is on my iPad and ONLY put the videos/songs I have ticked on iTunes onto my iPad. The tick box should be in the sync screen where you click a button to sync iTunes with your iPad.
