No sound on youtube. Why????

As the title says - the volume icon under the video screen has a big cross over it. When I go to help, I get a lot of mysterious waffle about uninstalling flash. I've tried to do this but being untechnical it's not been much help.

You don't say what it is that your tried to do :)

Go to CONTROL PANEL
Click on ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS
Windows will then list the programs that are on your PC.
Look for Adobe Flash Player.
Click on it and a REMOVE button will appear next to it.
Click that to remove Flash

Click the volume icon. Is the big cross gone?

I suspected that you accidently muted the volume. If that is the case then no need to uninstall/install Flash.

Thanks pusheed - I fiddled around a bit with the volume button (it wouldn't just unclick) and got it going
